How Can I Help?

We are all part of the one body in Christ.

At St Paul’s, we don’t believe you need special talents or lifetime membership in order to serve Christ.

Just let us know if you are interested in helping out, and we we’ll find something that suits you.

Here are some of the many ways you can serve/ participate at St Paul’s…

Cleaning

This team of volunteers keeps our church sparkling clean.

Connections Camp

This is our annual church camp, aimed at connected us with each other and Christ.

Early Learning Centre Advisory Group

Meets bi-monthly on Tuesday at 7pm in Luther House

Family Support Ministry

Meets bi-monthly on the 1st Sunday at 11.00 am

Kid’s Church

St Paul’s congregation works in close partnership with the Early Learning Centre.   All children and staff participate in Kids Church weekly.  This is held in the church and is led by congregational members who volunteer their time so the children and staff share special Jesus time.

Kids Club

Following the children’s talk at the 9.45 am service (and combined services), the children attend Kid’s Club.  Kid’s Club provides high quality, age appropriate, bible-based, interactively and unashamedly fun teaching programs for children from prep – grade 6.  The program is packed with fun and creative ideas which systematically teach kids about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  Children return to church during Holy Communion.  Kid’s Club runs weekly during school term.

Kid’s Talks

At the 9.45 am service (and combined services), all the children are invited to the front of the church for a Kids Talk.  This is a fun, interactive talk designed especially for children, run by members of the congregation.

Ministry team

The Ministry Team focuses on the spiritual growth and direction of the church.

Meets on first Wednesday of the month, 7.30pm in the FSM room.

Morning Tea

Volunteers make sure we have plenty to eat and a hot cuppa after each service.

Music

We are blessed with uplifting music- organ playing at the first service and a band at the second service.

Band practice is held at 6 pm Fridays or 10 am Saturdays in the church.

Office Team

Working bee every Thursday from 8.30am

Parish Council

The Parish Council meets every third Sunday around 10.30 am and anyone is welcome to turn up, any time.  Meetings are usually about 60% administration and 40% ministry.   Throughout the month, Parish Council duties are mostly administration (including property maintenance) and governance.  The Parish Council oversees the Family Support Ministry and the Ministry Team, and works with Pastor to help with current happenings in the church.

Prayer Gathering

Held every second Sunday of the month at 6.30pm in the church

Reading

Volunteers read to us from the bible during church.

Welcoming

The welcoming team provide a friendly face at the beginning and end of church services, and also act as ushers during the service.

Youth

St Paul’s has an active Youth Group.

Youth activities are held twice a month, with an activity being held on one fortnight and a bible study the other fortnight.

Bible study (secondary school students) allows youth to look at the bible and explore their faith together.  Youth have the opportunity to discuss current issues with leaders and Pastor.

Youth activities (grades 5 – 12) include:

  • Basketball
  • Pool party
  • Scavenger hunt
  • Bowling
  • Movie night
  • Messy games
  • And much more!

We also hold a 3 day local Christian Life Week Youth Camp (secondary students) each year.

*All leaders hold current Blue Cards
